Eligibility Criteria

However, eligibility criteria usually depends on the particular institute. But all the programs typically have some eligibility criteria.

Regular MBA: A regular MBA is usually for the students who have completed graduation and no professional experience. Degree holder students are eligible to take admission in regular MBA.

Part Time MBA: Typically a part time MBA requires 0-3 years of working experience with graduation.

Executive MBA: The eligibility for EMBA is typically different than others. It requires 3-5 years of working experience with higher executive position.

Admission Procedure

Regular MBA: Academic performance, GMAT score, CAT score are important for admissions in the regular MBA program.

Part Time MBA: The admission procedure for part time MBA is almost same as of regular MBA. Academic performance, GMAT Score and CAT score is the part of admission process. And in some institutes or colleges, the professional experience is also taken into consideration.

Executive MBA: In the case of EMBA, the professional experience is equally important as the academic performance and other test scores. Endorsement by the current employer is a key component of the EMBA admission process.

Program Structure

Regular MBA: It is a full time MBA program, where students have to attend all the classes. And there is negligible chances to work full time side by side. It is a campus program and students need to attend them physically.

Part Time MBA: In the part time MBA programs, students are able to work full time and attend the classes on weekends or in the evenings. Students can have online classes if they opt for online MBA programs.

Executive MBA: If we talk about flexibility, EMBA is almost same as of part time MBA. Students work full time and attend classes on the weekends.


Regular MBA: There are a lot of choices and various specializations to opt from in a regular MBA program. Students can choose according to their interest and career goals.

Part Time MBA: Even in part time MBA, there are a number of specializations available. Just like in the case of regular MBA.

Executive MBA: For EMBA participants, there are no such specializations available. The curriculum is typically designed to develop advanced general leadership skills.


While regular MBA is generally for those who have just completed graduation or for those who want to a dedicated MBA and don't want to work simultaneously.
